With over 15 years of experience as a consultant, Dr Hoare has wide interests and experience in all aspects of gastroenterology. His emphasis is on accurate and thorough investigation, coupled with a holistic approach to therapy. He has a specialist interest in the management of reflux and Barrett’s oesophagus, colonic polyps, swallowing and complex oesophageal disorders, and in investigating and treating the small bowel by video capsule endoscopy and balloon enteroscopy.

Dr Humphries diagnoses and treats a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions affecting the upper and lower gut and receives referrals from other consultants for his expertise in endoscopy and polyp removal. He is the Director of Endoscopy at St Mark’s, The National Bowel Hospital. He has extensive experience and expertise in endoscopy, colonoscopy, bowel cancer screening, polyp removal, video capsule endoscopy and the diagnosis and treatment of small bowel diseases. Dr Humphries aims to provide patient centred care, with a focus on patient’s concerns and clear explanation of results and diagnoses, as well as a holistic approach to management utilising the multi-disciplinary team at LDH.
